Dogs Are Good For Your Mental Health

Posted on April 30, 2020April 14, 2023 by Kirsten Barnhart

It’s a little ironic that I just belted out a 17 page paper for class but thought, “I don’t know what to say” when it came to writing this blog. I’m on week six of working and doing schooling from home, and lately, I feel like much of my creativity and motivation has dried up….

How To Enjoy Quarantine With Your Dog

These days, many of us are working from home or are at least spending more time at home than normal due to the coronavirus, which has led many states to enact “stay at home” orders. While the world can be a scary place, there is at least one good thing about the quarantine – we’re…

Look At How Blessed We Actually Are

Posted on March 31, 2020March 31, 2020 by Kirsten Barnhart

A few weeks ago I was complaining because of how much work I always had to do. I thought I was in the busiest time of my life. Then coronavirus hit, and I found out just how wrong I was. Now, I think, I am in the busiest time of my life. The world has…

Last Friday (March 20), I got the call from the vet telling me that Caesar has Cushing’s Disease. This is something I was preparing myself for. All the things he has been going through, all of the symptoms – they all fit. It’s been about a week now, and due to the coronavirus, I don’t…

The World Is Really Hard On Empaths Right Now

Posted on March 20, 2020 by Kirsten Barnhart

It’s been a long week, but at least it’s Friday, I guess. I’ve had a full-week of non-stop news coverage. At the same time, I fought vigorously all week for the rights and safety of my coworkers (at least I won that battle this morning). I haven’t been able to sleep right in quite some…

How My Dogs Have Empowered Me To Be A Stronger Woman

Posted on March 13, 2020March 14, 2020 by Kirsten Barnhart

March is Women’s History Month, which makes me reflect on the ways in which women have been strong, brave, and powerful in order to elicit change. International Women’s Day took place this past weekend, and I read a lot about how empowered women feel. I love it! It makes me think about how my dogs…

About

I am Kirsten and this is a space where I share the adventures I have with my dogs.

TPAR started as a blog about my life with Caesar and Jeter. It’s developed into a place where I can share hidden gems in local communities to take your dog, advice and tips I’ve learned along the way, and a space where sometimes I just get the things in my head out.

Since I began this blog, Jeter has passed and Gatsby has entered my life. Today, I continue to tell the stories of the dogs in my life. I hope you’ll find something useful here and grow to love taking your dogs on adventures too.
